    Design and Implementation of 8 - Stage Marx Generator Used for Gas Lasers

    Marx generators have been designed, built and tested. A Marx generator with eight stages, which can be deliver 64 kV maximum output, is charged up to 2 kV and the high voltage output was 12 kV with pulse rise time of 666 ns, decay time 4 µs, inductance 11 µH and efficiency of 75%. Energy stored in Marx 75.2 mJ and erected capacitance 5.875*10-10 F, the Charging current is 1 mA. A Xenon flash lamp trigger circuit with high voltage output pulse (4.5 kV) and pulse width of 2µs, was used for triggering the Marx generator

    ان النماذج الاحصائية لها دور كبير في المجال الصحي وخاصة عند التعامل في داء مرض السكري ويسمى بمرض البول السكري أحيانا (Diabetes Mellitus) هو احد الأمراض المزمنة والشائعة عالميا, وينتج عادة عندما يعجز الجسم عن إنتاج كميات كافية من هورمون الإنسولين, أو عند عدم قدرة الجسم على الاستفادة من الانسولين مما يؤدي إلى ارتفاع في مستويات سكر أو جلوكوز الدم وهناك عوامل تؤدي للاصابة بهذا المرض منها العمر ونسبة السكر والحالة الاجتماعية والمؤهل التعليمي وبالنظر لكون ارتفاع السكر من الامراض الخطيرة التي تصيب الانسان دون ان يشعر بها  والتي تؤدي الى الموت المفاجئ لذا اقتضى في هذا البحث تم استخدام نموذج الانحدار التقليدي ومقارنته مع نموذج انحدار توبت وبروبت ولوجت والذي يهدف إلى معرفة العوامل المؤثرة على مرض السكري فتوصل الباحث ان كل من طريقة المربعات الصغرى التقليدية وطريقة توبت في معنوية المتغيرات وكانت قيمة المعنوية للنموذج ككل لكلا الطريقتين متقاربة في حين توافقت طريقة لوجت وبروبت في نتائج معنوية المتغيرات وقيمة Pseudo R2 ومعنوية النموذج.Statistical models have a major role in the health field, especially when dealing with diabetes and it is called diabetes sometimes (Diabetes Mellitus) is one of the chronic diseases and universally common, and is usually produced when the body is unable to produce sufficient quantities of the hormone insulin, or when the body is unable To benefit from insulin, which leads to high levels of sugar or blood glucose, and there are factors that lead to this disease, including age, blood sugar, social status, and educational qualification.     Finite element analysis of R.C. Arches with openings strengthened by CFRP laminates

    The main objective of this research is to present an analytical study to investigate the behavior and performance of reinforced concrete arches with and without openings , un-strengthened and strengthened (externally by CFRP laminates or internally by steel reinforcement)and comparison with experimental results. Twelve tested reinforced concrete semi-circular arches with and without web openings were analyzed with cross-section of (150*250mm) and inner diameter (1500mm) and outer diameter (2000mm).The variables considered in this research included: curvature forces , location of opening through profile of arch, and type of strengthening.ANSYS computer program (version 11, 2007) was performed throughout this study. Full bond was assumed between the CFRP and concrete and between steel reinforcement and concrete. Brick elements SOLID 65 and SOLID 45 was used to represent concrete element and steel plate, respectively. While LINK8 and SHELL 41 were used to represent steel reinforcement and CFRP laminates, respectively. In general, a good agreement between the finite element and experimental results has been obtained concerning load –deflection response and mode of failure , where cracking and ultimate loads with average difference about 5.83% and 3.92%,respectively

    Density functional theory (DFT) is a very successful technique to calculating the properties of manyelectron systems from first principles. The bands structures, charge density and density of state (DOS) of monoclinic HfO2 are calculated using Pseudo potential (PP) and Atomic Orbitals (AO) method, within the density functional theory DFT, generalized gradient approximation GGA and local density approximation LDA. Hafnium oxide (HfO2) is a high-k dielectric (dielectric constant k ~ 25 at 300 K, band gap Eg ≈ 6 eV); thermally stable up to 700 ◦C.
